The principle behind the patent-pending GHOST™ Pickup System is simple
but the results are truly amazing... an affordable, modular pickup
system featuring state-ofthe art MIDI compatibility in an
easy-to-install package.
Graph Tech starts by strategically encapsulating custom-engineered piezo crystals
in a set of Graph Tech’s patented String Saver™ Saddles. The GHOST
Saddle Pickups use a natural compression that is very similar to an
acoustic guitar; you can play as hard as you want without overloading
the input channel or experiencing the dreaded piezo “quack”.
Most guitar bridges can be equipped with the GHOST Pickup System with
the added benefi t of longer string life, improved sustain and
full-bodied tone of the Graph Tech String Saver Saddles. Pick-ups are
individually calibrated so you get precision balanced sets of GHOST
Pickups every time!
The signal is then processed through one of Graph Tech's modular, plug-in pre-amps:
The Acousti-Phonic™ Modular Pre-amp
captures the natural acoustics of your electric guitar, which can then
be amplified or recorded direct, without feedback or mic placement
problems associated with a live or studio amplified acoustic guitar.
The
Acousti-Phonic features automatic switching for mono or stereo
applications. Plug in a mono cable and the Acousti-Phonic automatically
senses this and routes both the GHOST and magnetic pickups signals to
the mono cable. Plug in a stereo cable and each pickup system is routed
to a separate output cable which can be sent to separate signal
processors, such as an acoustic guitar amp and a regular guitar amp.
Other
features include an onboard piezo/magnetic mix volume, automatic
battery off sensor eliminating the need for a bulky nine pin output
jack, and auxillary 9V power to an active magnetic pickup system
eliminating the need for two 9 volt batteries.
The Hexpander™ Modular Pre-amp
features a proprietary harmonic dampening system that results in
tracking that is unequalled by any other system on the market today,
with responsive and accurate triggering.
The system features Graph Tech's exclusive Traktion™
switch allows the user to modify the tracking curve and optimize the
hexaphonic output signal for their unique guitar/playing
style/controller configuration. No more dead spots or need to slow your
playing so that the system can keep up!
The hexaphonic output is MIDI and Virtual compatible and with its
low-latency design perfectly complements today’s state-of-the-art
controllers such as the Roland GR33TM, Roland VG88TM & V-BassTM,
Roland GI-20TM, Axon 100TM and many more.
An optional pin-seven wiring harness is available for accessing a summed piezo signal.
Both the Acousti-Phonic and Hexpander Pre-amps can either “piggyback” on each other, or be used as stand-alone systems.
Optional Plug-in Switches allow you to flip between magnetic, piezo or hex
outputs, or blend the three for an infinte palette of tonal
possibilities.
The GHOST Pickup System is retrofi table for most Strat® style, Tele®
style, Wilkinson®, Tune-o-matic, PRS®, and P/J-Bass bridges. Just refer
