- Improves transient response
- Widens the sound field for better imaging
- Tightens up the bass response for greater accuracy
- Available in several sizes and firing angles
The Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizer is a unique speaker mounting
device that at once eliminates disruptive resonant coupling from the
loudspeaker to the stand, while providing a stable base that reduces
the recoil caused by the forward energy of the loudspeaker motion.
Made from three basic components, the Recoil Stabilizer is
essentially a platform for the loudspeaker that features a high-density
urethane base that isolates the speaker from the shelf, monitor-bridge
or stand. This effectively decouples the loudspeaker to eliminate
vibration-borne resonance to the substructure.
A heavy laser-cut steel plate is added and sandwiched between the isolation layer and a no-slip
neoprene top. The steel plate introduces significant mass to the
structure and serves to stabilize the speaker.
By reducing the backward 'recoil' energy as the speaker coil pushes
energy forward, initial waveform transients no longer suffer lag and
the
sharpness of the resulting pulse is more defined. The result is
significantly greater detail at all frequencies, with tighter bottom
end and improved depth of field.
Selecting the Right Recoil Stabilizer for You
The Recoil Stabilizer is available in various sizes and weights to address different speaker designs.
If your monitor is not in the cross-reference, measure the width, depth
and weight of your monitor. Compare the dimensions with the Models and Specifications chart to find the best fitting Recoil model. Ensure the weight of your monitor is under the load limit of the model you select.
Firing Angle Options
All Recoil Stabilizer models are available with a
flat, horizontal deck. This is best suited for monitors mounted on the
vertical listening axis (ear level). This fits well with workstations that have a monitor bridge and on the meter bridge of large consoles. These models have a model number
ending with "HF"
May Recoil Stabilizer models are available with a down firing deck angle of
5°. The angle helps aim the monitors when placed above the vertical
axis (above ear level). This works particularly well on a high speaker stand or on top of a larger monitor. These models have a model number ending with "DF"
The RX5-UF features an up firing angle of 10° to
properly aim monitors mounted directly on a desktop below the vertical
axis (below ear level). It's suited for editing desks when smaller monitors must squeeze in next to LCD displays.
