HEALTH EFFECTS DATA
    As the material is 80% D-Limonene it exhibits all of the healthhazards of that material, but to a lesser degree. The lower concentrationof the D-Limonene mitigates the defatting and drying effects of D-Limoneneon the skin. Although the hazards are moderate, there is still a hazardon eye contact. If the container of Stabilant22L left uncapped for extendedperiods at normal room temperatures, the D-Limolene evaporates. This reducesthe hazards somewhat. When applied to contacts, the D-Limolene will evaporateleaving the nonvolatile portion of the material (Stabilant 22) on the surfaces,and reference should be made to the MSDS for Stabilant 22 as to the potentialhazards of that product.

  • Skin Irritation: The material is a mild irritant and may cause somedefatting and drying of the skin.
  • Prolonged Skin Exposure: Prolonged and repeated contact may causedermatitis.
  • First Aid on Skin Exposure: Major spills on clothing require removalof contaminated clothing, then flush area with running water and wash withsoap and water. Small area contact, wash with running water, then soapand water. Obtain medical advice.
  • Eye Irritation: The vapor is an irritant which may cause conjunctivitisand corneal damage. The liquid is an eye irritant which may cause someeye damage.
  • First Aid on Eye Exposure: Flush eyes with running water for atleast 20 minutes holding eyelids open. Obtainmedical attention immediately! Treat for D-Limolene exposure.
  • Exposure when Inhaled: May cause irritation of the eyes, nose andthroat and of the respiratory tract. Overexposure could cause Central NervousSystem Depression characterized by headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea,vomiting, abdominal pain and incoordination.
  • First Aid when Inhaled: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing giveartificial respiration. Obtain medical attention immediately.
  • Oral ingestion: If victim is alert and not convulsing, rinse outmouth and give 2 glasses of water to dilute material DONOT induce vomiting. If spontaneous vomiting occurs, have victimlean forward with head down to avoid breathing in of vomitus, rinse mouthand administer more water. Transport victim toan emergency facility IMMEDIATELY!
  • Emergency Medical Care: Extreme care must be taken to avoid aspirationof product into lungs, which may result in pulmonary edema.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS & SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
    Note: Conditions of use, adequacy of engineering or of other controlmeasures and actual exposure Mll dictate the need for specific protectivedevices at the workplace. The recommendations listed in this section indicatethe type of equipment which will prevent overexposure to the product.
  • Ventilation: Where the material is being applied by swab or smallbrush, or from a dropper bottle, it is highly unlikely that sufficientair concentration of the D-Limolene could occur under normal ventilationsuch that a health hazard could be created. Whenever large volumes of thematerial are being used (>500 mL) or whenever the continually exposed surfacearea of the material is in excess of 3 ft.2 it is suggested that localexhaust ventilation
  • Respiratory Protection: Where small amounts are being used witha swab or small brush, or are being dispensed from a dropper bottle, respiratoryprotection is not needed under normal ventilation conditions. Where largevolumes of the material (>500 mL) are being used or where large surfaceareas are being exposed (e.g. - dipping tanks) the use of a NIOSH/MSHAapproved air purifying respirator equipped with organic vapor cartridgesbe used if exposed to concentrations up to 1000 ppm. Use an air suppliedunit if exposed to higher or unknown concentrations. (Such as in bulk handling)
  • Protective Gloves: Rubber, or Neoprene gloves should be worn whenthe handling of circuit boards or connectors requires constant skin contactwith the material.
  • Eye Protection: Goggles or Face shield when there is a potentialfor eye contact.
  • Footwear: Non slip when handling bulk amounts.
  • Clothing: Rubber or Neoprene protective clothing when handling bulkamounts.
  • Other: Not required.
  • Observe physical safety procedures commensurate with the size of the containerinvolved.

HOUSEKEEPING PROCEDURES
  • Clean-up of Leaks & Spills: Eliminate all sources of ignition.Stop or reduce discharge if safe to do so. Prevent from entering watercourses or sewers. Ventilate enclosed spaces. Contain by applying absorbent.Collect waste absorbent for disposal. For significant releases contactregulatory authorities.
